Che mondo sarebbe senza Nutella?

Che mondo sarebbe senza Nutella?

Yes, what world would this be without Nutella ? I grew up on it.
I stopped eating it after eating an entire jar straight, then waking up the next morning with inflamed kidneys which lasted a week (very painful).

Nutella is junk food. Sad to admit, but it is. About a week ago, I started doing double cardio, 7:00 AM for 45 minutes, then my weight training workout around 8:00 PM, for 80-90 minutes, then 45 minutes of cardio afterwards after a protein/simple carb shake to prevent catabolism and give me some more energy for cardio. My last cardio session went funny. I started to really really sweat my ass off at about 15 minutes, then at 25 minutes, I was done.

Done, meaning, my hands were shaking, I was still sweating like it was raining on me and it wouldn't stop. I've felt this feeling many many times before.

This is basically where your blood sugar levels drop and your insulin hormone takes longer to supply the body with more blood sugar. It's hypoglycemic effect on the body.

Here's a Wikipedia definition on Insulin:

Insulin is a hormone with intensive effects on both metabolism and several other body systems (eg, vascular compliance). Insulin causes most of the body's cells to take up glucose from the blood (including liver, muscle, and fat tissue cells), storing it as glycogen in the liver and muscle, and stops use of fat as an energy source. When insulin is absent (or low), glucose is not taken up by most body cells and the body begins to use fat as an energy source (ie, transfer of lipids from adipose tissue to the liver for mobilization as an energy source). As its level is a central metabolic control mechanism, its status is also used as a control signal to other body systems (such as amino acid uptake by body cells). It has several other anabolic effects throughout the body. When control of insulin levels fail, diabetes mellitus results.

So, long story, short, I ate some Nutella, then some ice cream, then some more nutella, I felt better almost instantly, but then fell asleep like a baby after the sugar rush.

Important Note for dieters and those doing double 45 min cardio sessions with weight training.

To avoid, what I just experienced, either you increase your carb intake from low GL foods and increase your veggies or if you start feeling it, stop immediately and bite into ice cubes while lying down for about 15 minutes. Stay cool at all times and make sure your always hydrated. You need to really do self-monitoring to see how your next training day goes. Usually, the body will adapt to the new training.

When your blood sugar levels are not stable throughout the day, this is when you start to crave sweets or food in general and crave a lot of it. If you keep your blood sugar levels stable, you can avoid cheating on bad foods.
